The PWS Community Store is an on-site charity shop located at Lar Santa Isabel, dedicated to raising funds for our residents. All proceeds from sales go directly to our resident activity groups and improvement projects around the home.

Magusto Chestnut festival
The Magusto Festival is a cherished annual event hosted by Lar Rainha Santa Isabel in Albertskroon, Johannesburg, celebrating Portuguese heritage and community spirit. First hosted in 2010, this vibrant festival is traditionally held in late November and features the roasting of chestnuts over open flames, filling the air with rich, earthy aromas. Attendees enjoy traditional Portuguese cuisine, lively music, and folk dancing, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The event also serves as a significant fundraiser, with proceeds supporting the home’s mission to provide compassionate care for its residents. The Magusto Festival not only honors cultural traditions but also brings together generations in a joyful celebration of community and giving.
